Overview

PAC-150 Standing Seam Metal Roofing Panels combine semi-structural metal panel performance with architectural roofing panel aesthetics. PAC-150 roofing coil is corrective-leveled to provide superior panel flatness. An optional factory-applied sealant bead can be applied for additional weather resistance. Maximum panel length is limited when factory- or shop-formed but virtually unlimited when field-formed; minimum panel length is approximately 4 feet.

PAC-150 roofing panels feature the ever popular 1.5″ leg height which requires mechanical field seaming to either 90° or 180° depending on the project’s uplift requirements. Panels have a concealed-fastener clip designed to allow for maximum design flexibility. For further details, please contact Petersen Aluminum.

Trim

All flashing and trim will be fabricated by manufacturer or qualified fabricator. Flashing shall be PAC-CLAD aluminum (.032-.063 gauge as specified) or PAC-CLAD steel (24 ga. or 22 ga. as specified). A 35-year, non-prorated finish warranty can be supplied covering metal finish performance. Vinyl masking is recommended on all fabrication applications where extra handling is expected. NOTE: The Strippable film must be removed immediately after installation.

Installation

PAC-150 roofing panels are intended for use in architectural and semi-structural roofing. Substrates may include 1/2″ (min.) plywood, nailboard insulation or equal with an underlayment of ice and water shield or 30# (min.) roofing felt applied horizontally from eave to ridge. Other substrates may include metal decking, purlins or rigid insulation in conjunction with bearing plates. Consult your local building code for compliance limitations.

A minimum 1/2:12 pitch is required. Contact Petersen Aluminum for further detail assistance. For coastal applications, aluminum panels along with stainless steel clips must be used for warranty. Consult a local architect/engineer for compliance with local codes and conditions.

PAC-150 Roofing Panels

PAC-150 roofing panels can be field- or factory-formed to length and designed to be field-seamed to 90° or 180° depending on the project’s design requirements. This panel combines an attractive thin-rib profile with superior structural performance. PAC-150 panels are designed for application over a variety of substrates in slopes as low as 1/2:12 pitch. PAC-150 roofing panels are available in a variety of widths from 12” to 20″. Materials available include: 22 and 24 gauge steel; .032 and .040 aluminum.

PAC-150 Seaming

The PAC-150 electric seamer can only run in one direction at 180°, manual seaming of the seam to 90° is an option when uplift limitations will allow. The PAC-150 panels should be installed from left to right to ensure the seamer travels down slope. Do not expect the seamer to travel up slope easily on a roof pitch greater than 4:12.

Seaming

PAC-150 panels require the use of mechanical seamers, which are available along with hand crimpers and other tools through D.I. Roof Seamers, which is the only supplier of this equipment approved by Petersen Aluminum. For more information Click Here.

Testing

PAC-150 panel assemblies are extensively tested to meet the country’s most stringent building requirements, including Underwriter’s Laboratory, Miami-Dade and the Florida Building Code.
